A Quality Training Journey with GreenU – Connecting, Accompanying and Spreading Values

Over the past weekend, GreenU was honoured to accompany the Centre for Community Financial Resources Development Support (CFRC) in a programme of intensive training for 30 staff members working in Tuan Giao, Muong Lay and Muong Ang. These are the staff who directly support local people in developing livelihoods and accessing consumer finance – a core force in the journey towards promoting sustainable development within the community.

Objectives of the training programme

The programme was specially designed by GreenU, with the aim of equipping staff with practical skills in accompanying and supporting the community, specifically:

🌟 Understanding the role and mindset of a companion (Coach & Mentor) – helping staff become people who listen, empathise and create positive motivation for their clients.
🌟 Practising effective communication skills – including active listening, asking open questions, giving constructive feedback and inspiring change from the people themselves.

An interactive – practical – connected learning environment

Throughout the programme, GreenU placed emphasis on a hands-on, highly interactive training method, creating opportunities for the staff to:

Discuss real-life situations frequently encountered in their work at the local level.
Share experiences together, listen to feedback from multiple perspectives and try out new approaches.
Gain a deeper understanding of how to build trusting and lasting relationships with local people.

Building capacity – Strengthening the team

Beyond simply exchanging knowledge, the training session was also an occasion for CFRC staff to:

Strengthen consensus and team spirit.
Reinforce internal trust and work together towards the goal of improving the quality of community services.
Inspire one another to continue spreading the role of the companion in sustainable livelihood development.
