🎯 GreenU Joins Training on Source Separation & Collection of Solid Waste – City of Hanoi 🎯

🌿 Working towards a green, clean and beautiful Hanoi through practical actions
On 22 November 2024, GreenU was honoured to attend a thematic training session on “Sorting municipal solid waste at source” organised by the City of Hanoi. The programme brought together nearly 50 delegates from pilot districts such as Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Dong Da and Nam Tu Liem, along with leading experts in the field of waste management.
🔍 Training content: Experience, policy and practical models
The training session offered a comprehensive and up-to-date perspective on:
- 🌱 Practical experience from pilot districts, together with the difficulties and lessons learned in the process of implementing waste sorting at source.
- 📜 Updates on new policies and the orientation of the City of Hanoi in solid waste management.
- ⚙️ A design-thinking approach to sorting and collecting solid waste, aimed at optimising management efficiency and reducing the burden on the urban environment.
💡 GreenU shares creative models that have been successfully implemented
GreenU also helped spread sustainable initiatives by sharing two representative models:
- 📘 “Green School – Say No to Plastic Waste” in Cam Le District, Da Nang City – a model that guides students, teachers and parents in practising waste sorting and reducing plastic waste right from the school.
- 🏡 “Green Home” in Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province – an initiative on household waste sorting combined with community communication, creating sustainable behavioural change.
Both models were advised and jointly implemented by GreenU, delivering positive results in raising community awareness and reducing waste released into the environment.
🌏 A first step towards a sustainable city
The training session did not stop at professional exchange; it also opened up opportunities for cooperation and for spreading systems thinking, in particular the application of technology and innovative design in urban solid waste management.
GreenU believes that this is an important first step towards building a sustainable, responsible and liveable Hanoi, in which every citizen is an active participant in the journey to protect the planet.
