🌧️ The Trip to Lào Cai After the Flood – A Journey of Kind Hearts 🌧️

“It has been many years since such a powerful storm last struck.”
This was not merely the subjective impression of local residents, but also a haunting reality witnessed after Storm No. 3 had passed. In localities across Lào Cai, fields were washed away, crops destroyed, homes left in ruins with roofs torn off… and, above all, the anxious, uneasy eyes of the people – together painting a heartbreaking picture of how fragile life can be in the face of harsh nature.

🤝 GREENU STANDING ALONGSIDE THE PEOPLE AFTER THE STORM

As soon as the storm had passed, GreenU launched an emergency support programme for residents and small businesses that had been severely affected. We did not stop at appeals, but acted immediately in a swift and practical manner.

The entire amount of donations was transferred by GreenU directly to the Lào Cai Provincial Women’s Union – the organisation working day and night to deliver relief in the most heavily affected areas. The most important objective was: to ensure that support reached the right place, the right people, and in a timely manner.

🛤️ SHARING AND ACCOMPANIMENT – ALONG ROADS COVERED IN MUD

Because the situation after the storm remained highly complex, the relief work needed to be organised carefully and flexibly. GreenU coordinated with the Lào Cai Provincial Women’s Union to organise a field trip, divided into two working teams:

One team travelled to Sa Pa town
One team travelled to Bảo Yên district

These were the two localities most severely affected by the flood. There, the working teams:

Handed relief gifts directly to affected households and small businesses
Recorded the real difficulties in order to advise on suitable recovery options
Shared with and encouraged the people to overcome the crisis

The trip was not simply a journey to bring material support, but also carried words of care, warm handshakes, and sincere listening. Because after a natural disaster, what the people need is not only assistance but also the hope to rise up again and start anew.
